Notary Pricing

Maximum California notary fees are governed by the Secretary of State.
However, additional fees are charged to cover the expense of traveling (distance, time spent & time of day such as traffic hour), printing documents, waiting fees, emergency rush, fees, jail or hospital visits etc.
Below is the standard, however any exceptions will be discussed during the appointment setting.


Signature Fees


$15 Acknowledgment (per signature)


$15 Jurat (per signature)


Mobile Service Fee


$25 – Covers normal time and travel up to 20 miles round trip


$1 per mile – Additional mileage over 20 miles round trip


$10 Additional if requested to travel more than 15 miles during rush hours (mostly between 4-6:30 pm weekdays).


After Hours Fee


$25 – Outside normal business hours (9am to 5pm Weekdays, Noon to 5pm Weekends)


Holiday Fee


$40 – Major Holiday ie, Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year’s, Easter, etc.


Waiting Fee


Grace period: 15 minutes


$15 – Each 15 minutes thereafter (if notary is notified)
If you’re more than 15 minutes late for an agreed upon appointment and don’t call or text, the notary will depart the meeting place.


Loan Signing Fees


$150 – First set of loan documents (purchase, refinance), documents were FedEx’d directly to borrower, notarization, fax/email back, travel up to 20 miles round trip, FedEx/UPS drop-off. Covers one signer.
$25 – Each additional signer.
$20 – Printing eDocs (per set, 2 are usually required so that one is left with buyer)


$100 – Second set of loan documents at same signing


$250 – Reverse Mortgage– documents where FedEx’d directly to borrower, notarization, fax/email back, travel up to 20 miles round trip, FedEx/UPS drop-off. Covers one signer.
$25 – Each additional signer
$25 – Printing eDocs (per set, 2 are usually require so that one is left with buyer)


Printing Fees


20¢ – General Printing (per page)


Cancellation Fee


$25 – A nominal cancellation fee is due and payable if a signer is physically unable to sign or refuses to sign after notary arrives.
